It was the most challenging month in my career, says Lukáš about May competitions

During May Lukáš Osladil competed at three hard shows. After the 5th place at Mozolani Pro in Žilina, Slovakia, he moved overseas, where he finished 8th at the prestigious and tough New York Pro and 7th at the Toronto Pro in Canada. Then he returned to the Czech Republic and had guest posing during the superfinal of Olympia Amateur Europe, which took place in Prague Tipsport arena. "I was so in it, that I didn't want to leave the stage," smile Lukáš pleased by the loud home crowd.

In May you had three competitions. It was very hard month for you, wasn't it?

That's right, it was probably the most challenging month in my entire career, three competitions are enough. Moreover, I was in early March at the Arnold Classic, since that I had to be on a diet to stay in form for the May competitions. I took a short break after the Arnold Classic, when I eated about four days normally, then I had to continue without any rest.

Before your leaving you expected that the toughest competiton would be New York Pro. Was it true?

Yes, it was the toughest of this three competitions. In Toronto there were more athletes, but quantity does not mean quality. New York is known for high-level competition like the Arnold Classic or Olympia.

First competition was Mozolani in Slovakia. You wanted to attack the medal, but in the end you finished in 5th place. Were you disappointed?

The 5th place in Žilina I definitely can't take as a success. I considered Mozolani like the easiest of my four competitions this year. Unfortunately it didn't work, but I don't look back and go on.

At hard New York Pro you took 8th place. Do you consider that like a success?

It's definitely bigger success than being the 5th at Mozolani. Unfortunately 8th place didn't earn any points for participating in Olympia. Finally, I got only one point from Mozolani, which is too little.

In New York competed also your training partner and competitor in the Bikini category Vlaďka Krásová, who also reached the TOP 10. Was it helpful that you were there together?

I was glad that I had someone to talk. We sat together behind the stage during the waiting for entrance to the stage. Unfortunately there wasn't time to support each other directly during the competition. When I was on stage, they were waiting for their competition.

Your overseas mission ended in Toronto, where you won two years ago during your professional debut. This time you finished in 7th place...

The preparation before Toronto was very hard for me. After the New York Pro, I was under 100 grams of carbohydrates per day for seven days and three more days around 200 grams of carbohydrates. I was definitely in better form and sharper than I was two years ago there.

So in your opinion, you had the best form in Toronto?

Yes, I was in my best form in Canada. Days before the competition was really the most difficult in my whole career. I already knew it was directing to the good form. I probably waited a little better result, but there it is.

You returned on the stage one more time during the superfinal of Olympia Amateur Europe in Prague Tipsport arena, where you had guest posing...

It was a kind of cool. Form of course, was not such as in Toronto, but it was enough for the guest posing.

The home crowd in Tipsport arena was cheering you loudly, did you enjoy it?

Yes, of course. I was so in it, that I didn't want to leave the stage. When I saw how people react. (smile)

Did you see something from the amateur Bodybuilding category?

I saw winners of four weight categories who fought for the overall victory and the Pro card.

In two of the four weight categories dominated the Czech competitors (in the up to 80 kg category Vojtěch Koritenský and in the up to 100 kg category Milan Šádek). Do you think that the Czech bodybuilding is raising?

I think that yes, it is really big success. There was also a lot other competitors from the Czech Republic, Šádek was even fighting for overall victory. Roman Fritz deserved to win, but Šádek was really close behing him. If would Šádek won, no one could wonder, because he had really life form.

What awaits you now?

Now I have holidays, I'm going for a week to Cyprus or Morocco. I definitely need some place with a gym. (smile) I'd be sick if I did't train. I have a better feeling after workout in the morning before breakfast, then I have good day.
